Struggling Adds a Personal Touch to Branding Projects

I’ve been working on a new brand identity for a local café that’s been around for years but wants to refresh its look. It’s a cozy, welcoming place with a strong community vibe, and the owner wants the branding to reflect that warmth and authenticity. I opened my design board with a blank canvas, ready to explore typefaces that could bring this vision to life. That’s when I thought about Struggling. As a Script Handwritten Fonts, it has a natural flow that feels personal and genuine—perfect for a brand that values connection.

Struggling for Logo Design and Brand Identity

The first step was creating a logo that would capture the essence of the café. I sketched a few ideas, testing different typefaces to see how they’d fit with the visual style. Struggling stood out immediately. Its handwritten feel added a human touch, while its great readability made it suitable for both digital and print use. I used it as the primary text in the logo, pairing it with a clean sans serif font for balance. The contrast between the two styles helped highlight the personality of the brand without overwhelming the viewer.

I also considered how Struggling would work in other elements of the brand identity. For instance, I tested it on business cards and packaging mockups. The font’s natural curves and legible structure made it easy to read even at small sizes, which is crucial for printed materials like menus and signage. It felt like the perfect choice for a brand that wanted to be approachable yet professional.

Struggling for Packaging and Product Labels

Next, I moved on to designing the packaging for the café’s signature coffee blends. I knew that the typography needed to be both eye-catching and functional. Struggling worked beautifully here. Its handcrafted appearance gave the products a sense of uniqueness, while its clarity ensured that key information like product names and ingredients were easily readable. I used it for the main headlines on the labels, complementing it with a simple sans serif font for secondary details like pricing and nutritional information.

I also experimented with using Struggling as an accent font in the packaging design. It added a subtle personal touch without overpowering the overall aesthetic. The font’s versatility allowed me to use it in different ways depending on the context—whether it was for the main branding or as a decorative element on the packaging.

Struggling for Social Media Graphics and Digital Assets

With the physical branding in place, I turned my attention to the digital side of the project. The café wanted to maintain a consistent look across all platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and their website. Struggling proved to be a reliable choice here too. Its natural handwriting style lent itself well to social media posts, where it could be used for captions, headers, and even watermarks.

I used Struggling as the headline font in a series of promotional graphics, pairing it with a modern sans serif font for the body text. This combination created a balanced look that was both stylish and readable. The font’s personality helped the brand stand out in a crowded online space, making it more memorable for the audience.

Struggling for Website Headers and Editorial Design

When designing the café’s website, I knew that the typography would play a key role in shaping the user experience. Struggling was ideal for the homepage header, where it could make a strong visual impact without being too distracting. I paired it with a clean, modern sans serif font for the rest of the site, ensuring that the overall design remained cohesive.

I also used Struggling in editorial-style content, such as blog posts and menu descriptions. Its readability made it suitable for longer blocks of text, and its warm, friendly tone aligned perfectly with the café’s brand voice. The font helped create a sense of intimacy and authenticity, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to quality and community.

Struggling for Watermarks and Signage

One of the less obvious but equally important uses for Struggling was in creating watermarks for the café’s marketing materials. I used it subtly in the background of posters and flyers, ensuring that it didn’t interfere with the main content while still adding a personal touch. The font’s elegant curves and soft strokes made it perfect for this purpose, giving the designs a refined yet handmade feel.

For outdoor signage, I tested Struggling on shop signs and storefront displays. Its legibility at larger sizes made it suitable for billboards and banners, while its natural style helped reinforce the café’s brand identity. I found that it worked especially well when paired with a bold sans serif font for the main text, creating a dynamic contrast that caught the eye from a distance.

Struggling for Client Presentations and Design Assets

Throughout the project, I made sure to test Struggling in various contexts before committing to it as the primary font. I created multiple mockups, experimenting with different layouts and color schemes to see how the font would perform in real-world scenarios. This process helped me identify the best ways to use it in different design assets, from logos and packaging to social media graphics and website headers.

I also considered font pairing options, experimenting with serif fonts, sans serif fonts, and other script fonts to find the right balance. Struggling worked well with a variety of styles, making it a versatile choice for any designer looking to add a personal touch to their projects. I recommend testing the font in different applications before finalizing your design system, as it can behave differently depending on the context.
